Patient Comments

Dear Dr. D’Ariano:

I’m writing to offer my sincere thanks to you for your excellent treatment of my herniated disc. While my surgery and recovery was a challenging process, your care made the treatment process a pleasant one. Part of my appreciation stems from the fact that when I first sought treatment for this conditi-lon I encountered doctors who appeared rather disengaged during the diagnosis process. This was compounded by two important factors: I could neither articulate my symptoms with the clarity my doctors needed me to provide nor could I conceive that my pain could be the result of a back injury when back pain was absent.

When I met with you seven weeks into my ordeal, I was sincerely hoping to meet a sincere and thoughtful surgeon. You not only explained my injury in a very comprehensible way, you took time to discuss the procedure, and most importantly, you were genuinely kind and considerate during each visit with me. Thanks to your recommendation that I seek prompt treatment, I found quick relief and have experienced a vastly improved quality of life in a relatively short amount of time. I finally can sit long enough to complete my academic reading and prepare my research article for publication. I am also pleased with the fact that I can move freely; I lead a very active professional life so mobility is critical.

In closing, I’d like to emphasize the fact that your supportive and professional manner made me confident that selecting you as my surgeon, even after only one visit, was the right choice.

Sincerely,
E.T.
